Pillow: Sleep Tracker App Reviews

Add a feature

Please add a feature to the app where you can store such information as a standard alarm time and/or connect to your calendar so the app knows when you have an event/work scheduled versus your days off and suggests an alarm/sleep time according to your habits.

Waste of time

Cant do anything except waste your time without upgrading. It will not let you see anything.

The single best sleep tracker

Pillow combines every great sleep tracking idea from the last few years into an elegantly designed, well thought out app. Love the new Watch tracking. Perfect!

Downloaded because of Apple Watch, and it doesnt work on there!!!

Even with the most recent update I still cannot get the app to open on my watch. It just loads until my watch closes the app. This was the only distinctive feature about the app; there are plenty of better sleep trackers in the App Store. Please fix this!!

Better than Fitbit

Really surprised at how accurate it is and so easy to use.

Too many data points in one night.

This review relates to using this app with Apple Watch. I looked at the data captured in HealthKit from last night, and noticed that Pillow logged 20+ data points for "asleep" — many started and ended within the same minute of time. This is just wrong and poorly conceived. If Im legitimately awake for many minutes in a row, then I can see the logic in logging a new "asleep" data point. Otherwise, I cant see the point. And, I can assure you I wasnt "awake" that many times last night. Pillows large number of short, individual sleep data points in HealthKit has rendered some other apps I use that rely on that data almost useless! For instance, instead of seeing my heart rate for the evening of sleep in one scrollable log of data in my HeartWatch app, I now have several "sleeps" to look at, which is far from convenient for identifying anomalies or trends. Id love to pay for Pillow. And, I will if they fix this major issue! But, for now, its introducing too much unuseful data for any type of valid sleep analysis. For now, Im going back to logging my sleep using HeartWatch.

Great app

I love this sleeping app. It is so convenient as I try to develop a healthy sleeping schedule, especially in college. Its has so many features and the percentage breakdown of the type of sleep you get is great !

Great sleep tracking app

Accurate tracking Sleep Recording iCloud integration Simple, beautiful UI And listens to your idea ..What else is needed?

Apple Watch function doesnt work

Decent app before but didnt like the idea of having to have the phone laying on my bed. The addition of Watch functionality sounded like a great idea, only problem is it doesnt work. Watch app wont communicate with iPhone app.

Best App!

This app is really useful in showing you your quality, percentage of sleep like REM Deep Sleep Light Sleep ,and Awake. Also the more you use the app the more facts it gives you like your average bed time if your a lark and sleep facts individually. Its extremely useful and helpful for most!

Not worth trying

Used 20% of my Apple watchs battery to monitor one short night of sleep! I dont want to have to charge my watch both morning and night. No access to any of the statistic features unless you buy the premium version. I at least wanted to review how well it tracked one night of before investing $5 in it, but you cant. The user interface is not great either--way too hard to shut off the alarm, for example. If it used less watch battery it might be half decent, but there are plenty of other flaws. I changed from a Fitbit Charge HR recently, and their sleep tracking was so much better.

Apple Watch connectivity

The watch doesnt connect to the phone at all. The two simply do not wanna connect. I would really love to put my watch to better use but it wont let me, please fix this issue.

Just stopped working, not sure why

Used to have a 5 star now it wont even open tried to uninstall, reinstall and it only opens a purple screen with no options then freezes my phone... After another update still wont load anything..,time to delete this app since apparently it doesnt work anymore. Avoid this app if possible, worked for approximately 6 months then stopped working and the updates arent doing anything

Awesome app

This is an awesome app, but I will say the paid version is really what makes it awesome. The advanced reporting is remarkable. I have worn my Apple Watch and Microsoft band to sleep the past two nights and both compare. Love that I no longer need the band to wear to bed anymore. The white noise to fall asleep and the alarm are just a bonus. For the watch battery, just set the watch to Do not disturb mode while sleeping. It only uses around 4% of my battery overnight. Also, my HeartWatch app still tracks my heart rate overnight

LOVE this app!!

This app is my favorite! It is so good for helping you fall asleep and wakeup. The only downside is that you have to pay to unlock some of the features. Other than that, great job on this app! You should definitely get it.

Really Good App

This is a really good app if you want to know about your personal sleep statistics. This app also allows you to record audio while you sleep. You want to make sure that you dont forget to start and stop sessions. Pillow connects to the Health app so you can view your statistics there also.

Horrible!

I used this app for a week and my alarms never went off! It made my alarms not work even after deleting the app.

Pretty good but too many data points

This is a pretty good app, but like another reviewer mentioned, it may ruin insight of your sleep analysis by other apps because its logging too many start/stop sessions in the data log kept by the Apple health app. If you choose to use this app, you will have to go into the health app on a daily basis to clean up this unnecessary data so your other logging apps are not rendered useless. If this can be fixed, then this would be an amazing app. Id like to keep using this app, but its a real pain to keep going into Apple health on a daily basis to clean up all the unnecessary data.

A Lot of Promise

This sleep application has a lot of promise and a lot of problems. If these problems get worked out it could be the very best sleep application for the Watch. Poor user interface: I never know where I am in the application. There are too many hidden menus that require just swiping from every part of the display (and changing orientations) to access basic features. Connectivity issues with Watch: Out of the week I used this application I had to uninstall and reinstall the application 50% of the time to get it to work with the Watch. Unexpected Crashes: Sometimes I would wake up in the middle of the night and notice that the watchOS application quit on itself leaving me without sleep data. The iOS version still acted as if the Watch was connected but it was not recording any data. When it came to waking up I would go to stop the alarm and it would not let me. I think the iOS application is trying to stop the watchOS application but it cannot stop what is not running. I would love to continue using this application once these bugs get worked out. To my knowledge this is the only sleep tracker for the Watch that offers sound recordings while sleeping and I am very excited to have this information but for the time being I will be returning back to Sleep++. As a feature request, I would love for HomeKit integration. It would be great for when the smart alarm goes off that it would turn my lights on. Thanks for all the work you have done and I am excited for the future development work.

Problems

The app has a bug, that register your asleep most of the time per minute, and at the morning there is at your HealthKit a long list of asleep, crazy. The first night was not saved at iCloud and there isnt any analysis of your sleep, despite I bought the premium by $4.99. Need works.
